Distributed Antenna Systems
Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) also provide improved cellular service indoors, but they use
different technologies to provide a more robust connection to larger numbers of devices. There
are multiple types of DAS technology
 Passive DAS – a replicated outdoor signal distributed over coaxial cable, like a signal
booster with more operational control
 Active DAS – utilizes a direct (hardline) connection to the mobile network, rather than
replicating an over-the-air signal, with distribution over fiber optic cable
 Hybrid DAS – Utilizes the best aspects of active and passive DAS, but with easier
installation and more flexible system architectures
